Arthritis and Knees

Kathi and I spent Sunday at home with me trying to keep weight off my sore left knee and decided it was time to see a doctor. My primary care physician called in a prescription for a small dosage prednisone earlier in the week and that did not seem to help.

Our stay time at Jim Hogg Park expired on Sunday afternoon, so we moved our motorhome across Lake Georgetown, back to Cedar Breaks Park. We prefer Cedar Breaks, since it is about 15 minutes closer to Austin for our drives into town to see AJ. We have a reservation for this site until the middle of May. We can see the lake out our windshield at the site we are located and it is nice to be here.

Monday, we drove to Fast Med near us in Georgetown, where they examined my knee, took some X-rays and determined the problem was probably arthritis related. The physician’s assistant on duty prescribed a higher dosage of prednisone and told me I needed to see an orthopedist, if it did not get better soon.

We stopped by Longhorn Steakhouse on the way home from Fast Med and had our lunch of sirloin and baked potatoes and we shared a salad. Lunch was delicious and we had enough left over for a snack later in the day.

My knee was aching when I got home, so I took a nap for a couple of hours to rest it and let the pain subside. It was feeling a little better when I awoke this morning, but I plan to minimize movement again today and allow a little more time for the prednisone to work. So far, it feels better today than it did yesterday and I am taking that as a good sign.

Look for better news in my next post.

A big Thank You to my friends and readers who have been using my amazon.com ads on my web sites and blogs to make Amazon purchases. Sadly, Amazon and I are parting ways and I have removed all their ads from my sites. At the current time, I have no plans for additional advertising from any of my websites. Thanks again for your support.

  1. I'm glad you felt a little better today. I hope you continue to improve.

I think that is the first roadrunner I have seen that wasn't a cartoon. Meep Meep

  2. I like roadrunner, but usually by the time I get my camera they ran away and I miss the picture. They do not stay still very long at a time.
