Joe's and Laundry

It was overcast much of Tuesday on Lake Georgetown and we spent most of our day inside our motorhome. After morning coffee and catching on daily events, I began writing and Kathi read for a while, before making our lunch of left over mashed potatoes and pot roast. She threw in some green beans for color and health and we had an enjoyable early lunch.

I got hungry later and coerced her in to going to Pizza Hut to pick up a pepperoni and Italian sausage pizza and we enjoyed another meal at home.

Our dual compressor system is designed to run on 50-amp input and we have a switch that turns off one compressor, if we only have 30-amp service available. We have had some warmer days recently and it was not as cool in our motorhome as we expected and it finally dawned on me that I may have our second air conditioner compressor turned off. I went out to check and sure enough, I had inadvertently switched it to off. Now we are cooler and happier again.

We drove into Austin on Wednesday to have lunch with AJ. I wanted some crab legs and Joe’s Crab Shack was right around the corner and a suitable choice for all of us. AJ had fried shrimp and Kathi and I shared a Joe’s Original Crab Pot for two. Lunch was a little pricey, but the meal was delicious. I ate a dungeons crab, a snow crab, a few boiled shrimp, some sausage and an ear of corn. I got my fill and everyone else seemed happy with their lunch selections. We ran a couple of errands and returned home on that beautiful sunshiny day.

More sunshine on Thursday and I got a few pictures around the lake. It was laundry day at the Boozer household, so we spent the morning at the laundromat. I drove Kathi through Panera Bread on the way home from the laundry and she ordered a broccoli-cheddar soup and Caesar’s salad. That did not appeal to me, so I drove on to a Whataburger for my lunch.

We ate our lunch and folded and stowed our clothes, then spent the afternoon watching TV or reading. It was a nice day being together on the lake.

I have spent too much time whining about a sore knee in the last week or so and I realize many of my friends live with pain on a daily basis. I hope it is a result of living a full, happy life. Some friends are dealing with long-term illnesses and family death and I empathize with them. I am a fortunate man and have a great life. My wish is for more good days for all of us.

  1. I always enjoy our visits. We had a nice lunch and it is always good conversation.

  2. Joe' Crab Shack was fun and we had a great conversation. We will do it again next time we are in Austin.
